In-home rehabilitation brings advanced rehabilitation therapy, mobility care, and pain management directly to your dog’s home. Instead of traveling to a clinic, your pet receives personalized, evidence-based treatment in a familiar, low-stress environment where functional movement can be assessed more accurately.
Rehabilitation is not just for post-operative dogs. We help dogs who are recovering from injury, managing chronic pain, experiencing mobility loss, living with neurologic conditions, or training for sport and performance. Seniors, arthritic pets, and dogs with long-term mobility needs benefit significantly from in-home therapy.
No. While we do support many orthopedic and neurologic post-operative cases, we also treat arthritis, soft tissue injuries, chronic pain, neurologic conditions, mobility challenges, and performance or working dogs needing conditioning or return-to-sport programs.
Yes! In-home rehab is not only safe—it can reduce stress, minimize exposure to other pets, and improve recovery. All rehab is tailored to your dog’s specific stage of healing and monitored by trained professionals. And because it is done in your pet's everyday environment, they are building skills to benefit their existing daily routines
Rehab typically begins within a few days to one week post-op, based on your veterinarian’s recommendation. Early-stage rehab focuses on swelling reduction, comfort, and safe movement.
We offer flexible scheduling, and most providers are available during weekdays, evenings, and some weekends. Please call or email us for scheduling information.
Treatment frequency depends on diagnosis, age, fitness level, and goals. Most patients are seen weekly or biweekly at the beginning, with frequency adjusted as they improve. Your provider will give a customized plan during the evaluation.
Our providers are certified rehabilitation professionals (e.g., CCRT, CCRP, CCAT) working under the guidance of sports medicine and rehabilitation specialists (DACVSMRs). Treatment plans follow evidence-based, advanced clinical protocols.
Your provider performs a:
• Orthopedic & neurologic assessment
• Gait and mobility evaluation
• Pain & functional movement assessment
• Review of surgical history or medical records
• Home environment review
• Customized treatment plan + home exercise program
This appointment typically lasts 60–90 minutes.
Visits typically last 45-60 minutes, depending on your dog’s condition and stage of recovery. Your certified rehabilitation provider comes to your home, evaluates your dog’s movement, assesses the environment, and creates a customized treatment plan. Sessions include therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, functional training, and appropriate modalities such as laser or PEMF. Each session is completely customized for your dog's unique needs and may include:
• Gentle mobility exercises
• Massage therapy
• Strength and balance work
• Pain management techniques
• Progress monitoring
• Home care guidance for you
Don't worry, we'll make this as easy as possible for both you and your pet. It's simple:
• Choose a quiet, open area for exercises
• Have a few treats or your dog’s favorite toy on hand
• Be available to observe and assist as needed (especially for early sessions)
We commonly treat:
• CCL/TPLO/TTA recovery
• Arthritis & chronic pain
• Iliopsoas and other soft tissue injuries
• Tendinopathy (biceps, supraspinatus, shoulder injuries)
• Hip/elbow dysplasia
• IVDD, FCE, and other neurologic conditions
• Geriatric mobility concerns
• Athletic conditioning and return-to-sport
• Post-fracture rehabilitation
• General weakness or difficulty with functional activities
Our providers are trained to work gently and adapt exercises to your dog’s comfort level. If there are signs of significant pain or resistance, the session will be adjusted or paused. We will coordinate with our overseeing veterinarian and your veterinary surgeon on the best next steps and cater the treatment plan to the phase of recovery.
Yes! You'll receive simple, clear home exercises and care tips between sessions to help reinforce your dog’s progress and keep healing on track. Progress relative to full recovery will be shared at the conclusion of each session.
Yes. We work closely with your primary veterinarian or specialist to ensure consistent, collaborative care. Communication includes an initial evaluation summary and updates as needed.

In-home care provides:
• Less stress and anxiety
• More natural, accurate movement assessment
• Better exercise participation
• Higher owner follow-through
• Functional training directly in the pet’s real environment
• Increased comfort and better outcomes
Patients often progress faster when treated where they live and move daily.
Most sessions last 45–60 minutes, depending on your dog’s needs. Initial evaluations are typically 60–90 minutes.
A referral is helpful but not always required. For post-operative or medically complex cases, we encourage collaboration with your veterinarian or surgeon to ensure safe, appropriate care.
Because we are an in-home service, we do not provide underwater treadmill therapy. However, if your home has a pool and aquatic therapy is appropriate, we can incorporate supervised swimming or water exercises as part of your dog’s plan.
